Comment: if that is the case perhaps the following true story in Germany about an older shoplifter (70 in age) who tried to evade capture by biting a policeman – before realising that he had left his dentures at home. Gustav Ernegger was grabbed by the officer as he ran out of the clothes shop after stealing a shirt. But instead of sinking his teeth into the policeman’s arm, he could only leave a wet mark from his gums. Police in Braunschweig said: ‘He tried to bite several times but was unable to cause any harm.’
Should he now be known as Gustav Errnegger?
