A new Populus poll for The Times reveals deep disenchantment with the campaign so far and high levels of scepticism about manifesto pledges and the parties’ honesty.
More voters are now hoping for a hung Parliament than either a Tory or a Labour outright victory. That will be good for the Independents and the political and electoral health of the nation.
Andrew Cooper, the director of Populus, said: “Two in five voters say they want change but are not ready for the Tories. For many, it seems to be a choice between Tweedledum and Tweedledumber.”
